The first full length album from The Plungers, produced by Steve Baise. A great record that includes three of my faves "Bully With a Bear," "He's Mine" and "Take Me Anywhere." The drums on all 3 records (which were recorded before I joined) are by John Dolan. When I went down to Steve Baise's studio in Virginia Beach to record with The Plungers in 2001, I was left with the distinct impression that Steve is a jackass. He seemed more concerned with his own band's gig (on the night of our recording which he didn't bother to tell us about, which cut our recording time short and which we then had to go and attend) and his courrier job (which then nixed our scheduled mixing time the following day) than doing the recording. We wound up getting only one song mixed and then mailed to us. Yep - that was really worth the drive to Virginia Beach. Thanks Steve.
With cover art by Yoshiko of the 5 6 7 8's, the first Plungers EP was destined for greatness even before it was recorded. I especially love Akiko's vocals on "No Dreamer."
The Plungers 45 single of "Come on Let's Go" and "Cool Diner." In 2004 we re-recorded "Cool Diner" with JK on bass and backing vocals.
Masayo's habit of marking her hands with the words "Love" and "Hate" before playing a show can be traced to the 1955 film "Night of the Hunter."
